Team game results

Post  projectblue on Mon Jul 14, 2008 5:02 pm

Hi all,

Can someone explain how the scoring on team games work? I have been looking at our finished games and the scores don't tally up to the amount of games actually won.

Thanks

i dont know how it works adam..but i found this on chesshere forum..i kinda get it now...

6/30/2008 - I have just learned the hard way that the ELO for the team is adjusted based on team ELO's and not individual ELO's. We just had a bad losing day where we went 0-6-1 and the players involved dropped 54 points but because the losses were to teams with lower ELO's the losses were magnified to a whopping 125 points (we dropped from 1499 to 1374 and two players with two losses each only dropped 17 points each,

Yeah I understand that bit, but when you have results like this:

15. We Hate Projectblue(1044) 8-0

robbo1970(1494) 1-0 nicejacket(1060)
robbo1970 1-0 nicejacket
projectblue(1493) 1-0 scarey411(1128)
projectblue 1-0 scarey411

and then one like this:

16. We Hate Projectblue(1044) 3-1

robbo1970(1494) 0-1 nicejacket(1060)
robbo1970 1-0 nicejacket
virgodave(1576) 1-0 scarey411(1128)
virgodave 1-0 scarey411

It just dosen't make sense to me!!!!!!

yes...thats when the admin was messing with the site..and things got mixed up...if you remember the scores got jumbled up a bit for a day or two.then they came right again...that happened at the same time..but never sorted itself out...it should be 4-0..its just a blip....but the overall score is correct.............

p/s thanks for reminding me of that nice loss against your mate nicejacket adam.....i will have to stop playing when i am on the red wine Embarassed

That would also explain Gramstone's mysterious results. His wins and losses are incorrect on team games although his overal score is correct.

I wanted to make sure you remember that, it should not have happened, there is no excuse. Wink .....even if you were drunk!!!!

Team Results

Well, I'm confused with the whole results and ratings. I still can't get used to players with low ratings playing a lot better than players with much higher ratings, It's all very confusing, results wise and ratings wise. can anyone give me a clear answer to both of these. Babamas (Derek)
